It's official: Sony/ATV is not for sale

Sony Corporation no longer plans to dispose of its music publishing division. News of the possible sale of Sony/ATV, the world's largest music publisher, first surfaced a few weeks ago as part of the leaked emails from Sony.

Two senior executives – Sony Entertainment Chief Executive Officer Michael Lynton, who oversees Sony Corp.'s film, TV and music operations, and Sony/ATV Chairman/CEO Martin Bandier – confirmed that plans, if there ever were some, had been called off.
