Retail group predicts December decision on VAT loophole
Thursday, Oct 13th 2011 at 5:38PMLVCR allows goods under a certain value - currently £18 - to be sold into the UK from the Channel Islands VAT-free, an arrangement that has led many entertainment retailers to operate from fulfilment centres on the Islands.
However, in the most recent Budget the Government announced plans to lower the threshold from £18 to £15 and this comes into effect from November 1.
