Sony Corp to axe 10k jobs as it forecasts $6.2bn annual loss

Parent to the likes of Sony Music, PlayStation, Sony Computer Entertainment and Sony Pictures Entertainment, Sony Corp will cut roughly 6% of its total workforce in a bid to get back to profit after four years in the red. It's estimated loss has increased from a previously announced forecast of $2.7bn.

The New York Times reports a public statement from Sony's chief financial officer Massaru Kato saying that all options were under consideration.
