Spotify opens up to unsigned acts

TuneCore offers digital distribution onto a variety of digital services including iTunes and Amazon MP3. It is open to small acts and labels based on an annual fee of $10 (?6.68) per track.

Earlier this year TuneCore reported that its acts saw downloads of 26.2m in 2009, grossing $35m (?23.3m) and accounting for 40% of sales. Album downloads of 1.4m accounted for 2.3% of sales while 37.4m streams made up 57% of sales.
