YouTube to invest £10m in UK content?

According to Broadcast, the video-sharing website may launch up to 20 UK channels managed by content partners and by advancing funds to producers to create the content. This follows a similar, larger-scale move in the US.

Revenues generated from surrounding advertisements are said to be shifted to a more balanced split between YouTube and the content partner, after the advance has been settled and producers will retain rights to exploit their content.
