Radio 1's Joe Harland to keynote at Music Week Tech Summit

Joe Harland

Next week’s Music Week Tech Summit Together With O2 is shaping up to be the must-attend music business conference of the year, with the BBC’s Joe Harland the latest top exec to confirm their appearance.

Harland – head of visual and multi-platform radio across BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, Radio 2, 6 Music and the Asian Network – will deliver the conference’s opening keynote, talking about his platforms’ success in reaching new audiences through technology.

“I’m delighted to be speaking at the Music Week Tech Summit, and to have the chance to share both the lessons we have learned and to hear from colleagues across the industry about how they have dealt with the challenges of a professional environment which is changing at light-speed,” said Harland. “Platforms and content are part of a mutually beneficial ecosystem for reaching audiences, and I look forward to this event further fostering that understanding.”

Also joining the line-up is fast-rising artist Joseph J Jones, who will join Amazon Music’s global head of programming and content strategy, Alex Luke, on the Power Of Voice In Music Streaming session. Expect plenty of pithy insight into what it’s like to be a breaking musician in the digital age.

They join the already-announced heavyweight line-up, which includes a keynote from Kobalt’s chief technology officer Rian Liebenberg, a Virtual Reality case study with Melody VR’s co-founder and COO, Steven Hancock, and appearances from the likes of Abbey Road’s Isabel Garvey, Deviate Digital’s Sammy Andrews and InGrooves’ SK Sharma.

The Tech Summit takes place next week on Wednesday September 26, at the O2. Tickets for the conference have been selling like the very hottest of cakes, but to join hundreds of top execs from across the music and technology sectors, please check musicweektechsummit.com for ticket availability.
