AIM has issued a statement in response to the news that distributor Cinram has entered administration.

Based in Aylesbury, Cinram has a 40-year history in the industry and distributes releases by UK independent labels. Administrators Mercer & Hole said its corporate restructuring team is working with the directors to prevent the closure of the site at Aylesbury

In a statement (updated on August 18), AIM CEO Paul Pacifico commented: “This is another blow to the independent sector and could mean that for many who currently use Cinram, there may be no complete independent supply chain available to them, at least in the short term. However, AIM understands that currently the administrators are working hard to ensure continuity of service and looking towards a buyer for the business.” 

Mercer & Hole said management intends to continue to service client contracts while a possible sale of the business is explored.
