AWAL has announced a worldwide recordings deal with singer-songwriter, instrumentalist and producer, Gus Dapperton.
Kobalt’s recording company will make available a full range of services to Dapperton, including global marketing, campaign coordination and global distribution.
It follows recent signings including Gabrielle Aplin, The Night Cafe, You Me At Six and The Wombats, as well as a major partnership with Glassnote. AWAL has also recently acquired radio promotions and music marketing company In2une Music.
Ron Cerrito, AWAL president, US, said: “Gus embodies the kind of artist we want to work with at AWAL. He’s as creative and authentic as they come - it’s been amazing to watch him steadily gain traction as an independent artist, expand his fanbase and evolve his sound and style. We couldn’t be more excited to have him join the AWAL family.”
The tracks Prune, You Talk Funny and I’m Just Snacking have averaged nearly 1 million monthly Spotify listeners. Dapperton’s also landed a sync in the 13 Reasons Why season 2 Soundtrack.
He plays UK dates in February and March 2019, including Brighton Concorde 2 and London’s Oval Space, as part of an extensive European tour.
