Wembley Stadium gears up for Ed Sheeran's return

Ed Sheeran's promoting team have said they are "ecstatic" to be bringing the star back to Wembley Stadium in 2018, three years on from his lauded hat-trick of dates at the venue.

In July 2015, Sheeran became the first solo artist to play at the stadium with just a guitar and loop pedal over three consecutive, sold out nights.

He will play two nights at Wembley on June 15-16 next year as part of a wider UK stadium tour, promoted by Kilimanjaro Live and DHP Family (AEG Presents will stage the singer's Glasgow date in Hampden Park).

"I know I speak for everyone at Kilimanjaro and on behalf of Dan Ealam and his team at DHP when I say we are absolutely ecstatic to be able to bring Ed Sheeran back to Wembley Stadium next summer," said Steve Tilley, Kilimanjaro director and senior promoter. "His Glastonbury headline set reminded everyone once again that this very special solo artist can command huge audiences in open air venues with ease! Bring on next June, we literally can’t wait!’’

Wembley's partnerships development manager Danielle Russell said: “It was a pleasure to work with Ed and his wider team to bring the 2015 shows to Wembley Stadium. Seeing him mesmerise his audience with just a guitar and a loop pedal was a really special moment in Wembley’s history and I’m sure we will be able to enjoy another set of breathtaking shows in June next year.”

Gary Hutchinson, head of commercial sales and venue partnerships, added: “Ed Sheeran is a world-class act and we are delighted to be welcoming him back to our world-class venue. Music events are integral to Wembley Stadium and these shows will be a highlight in an already packed event calendar next year. We look forward to being able to offer both our Club Wembley members and fans alike the opportunity to say ‘I was there’ at two huge shows under our iconic arch.”

Tickets go on general sale on Saturday, July 8. On this tour, any tickets that are resold will not be valid unless they are bought and sold through Sheeran's’s official resale partner, Twickets, which allows fan to fan sales at face value and  booking fee only. Fans on all the stadium dates will be required to bring their tickets, booking confirmation and credit card, plus a valid form of ID, to gain entry to the show.
