Baboom launches, tells artists to 'take control of their content and careers'

Kim Dotcom-founded direct-to-fan streaming and download platform Baboom has launched with a call to independent artists to "upload their music and take control of their content and careers".

Baboom was launched by Megaupload founder Kim Doctom, but the controversial figure and the new venture severed all ties last year because of Dotcom's relationship with the music industry.

"Goodbye Baboom. I was holding you back," said Dotcom in a tweet. "The music industry hates me. You'll do better without me."
