Beyonce still at top of UK albums and singles charts

Both the UK album and singles charts see Beyonce at the top for a second week in succession today, notably keeping Madonna off number one with her new single Hollywood which debuted at number two.

Other new entries on the singles chart come from Blur with Crazy Beat which charted lower than any of their previous 13 singles at number 22, and Avril Lavigne's Losing Grip which, undoubtedly disappointing for Arista, entered at number 22.

The Darkness, on the other hand, will be celebrating as their debut album Permission To Land stormed in at number two on the albums chart. This was closely followed by the Kings of Leon's debut Youth and Young Manhood which came in at number five. Interestingly, following the Osmonds documentary which was aired last Saturday, their Ultimate Collection retrospective gathered pace up the chart and shifted from thirteen to four.
