Canada extends recording copyright term, 'but what about authors' rights?'

With Canada having just passed into law an extension to the copyright length of sound recordings, musician and songwriter Randy Bachman - co-founder of seminal bands Guess Who and Bachman-Turner Overdrive - has urged the government to extend songwriter and composer copyrights to the life of the author plus 70 years instead of the current term of 50 years post-mortem.
