Kill Your Friends movie confirmed, Rafe Spall to star

Kill Your Friends

John Niven's cult music industry novel Kill Your Friends is being produced for the big screen by Altitude Film Entertainment.

Kill Your Friends is a dark satirical take on the music industry at the height of the Britpop glory, the movie details the story of A&R man Steven Stelfox.

The book is loosely inspired by Niven’s experience of working at London Records in the Nineties.

Rafe Spall (Prometheus, Life of Pi) has already been signed up for the lead role of Stelfox, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Niven’s own script will be used and the film will be directed by Owen Harris, who directed TV comedy drama Holy Flying Circus while Gregor Cameron (Goin' Down to South Park and Katy Brand's Big Ass Show) will produce alongside Altitude.

Kill Your Friends is one of four high-profile projects from Altitude – headed up by Will Clarke, the founder of British producer and distribution banner Optimum Releasing.
