Bannatyne Music, a newly-named record label part-owned by business entrepreneur Duncan Bannatyne, is releasing its first material this spring from boy band signings Reconnected.

The label originally came to Bannatyne’s attention through the Dragons Den TV programme as RKA Records in 2010 when Ryan Ashmore brought it to the panel. Ashmore has since sold his share and is now an artist manager and part-time A&R consultant for the label.

Speaking to Music Week, Ashmore confirmed that the track One In A Million, performed by former Britain’s Got Talent contestants Reconnected, will be its debut release on March 18. Bannatyne even makes a cameo appearance in the accompanying video (posted below).

The trio Reconnected will tour as a support act for X Factor winners Little Mix this month and into February.

Ashmore also spoke about a development deal the label signed with artist Jay Milly. That has now been seen through and Milly has been signed by Universal division West Coast Records with licensing through Kontor Music.
