Universal Music Group is to sell EMI’s European rights in the Now! compilation series to Sony, subject to regulatory approval.
In a deal that was announced this evening, UMG retains its pre-existing rights to the compilation series in Europe and acquires EMI Recorded Music’s rights outside of Europe.
The sale follows the approval of UMG’s acquisition of EMI by the European Commission in September 2012, and marks the last of the mandated assets to be divested.
