Eurosonic Noorderslag is gearing up for it’s 27th edition, and has revealed its initial artist line-up.
The first names of acts performing at Eurosonic Noorderslag 2013 are the following European acts selected by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU):
Steaming Satellites (AT), Gaëtan Streel (BE), Netsky live (BE), SX (BE), Krista (BG), 77 Bombay Street (CH), Hathors (CH), Floex (CZ), Captain Capa (DE), Tonbandgerät (DE), The Good The Bad (DK), Iiris (EE), LCMDF (FI), SKIP THE USE (FR), Cimbaliband (HU), Little Green Cars (IE), Ásgeir Trausti (IS), A Toys Orchestra (IT), Mutiny On The Bounty (LU), Bingagroove (MD), Blaudzun (NL), Mikhael Paskalev (NO), Orelha Negra (PT), Anna von Hausswolff (SE), Jake Bugg (GB).
The showcase will present a broad variety of European talent throughout the city of Groningen, Eurosonic Noorderslag is an important platform for new European artists, playing a vital role in the development and circulation of talent in Europe and beyond.
With support from the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), Yourope and Network Europe, Eurosonic Noorderslag is able to offer additional exposure to the performing artists in addition to their own ETEP (European Talent Exchange Program). Since the start of the ETEP program in 2003 a total of 1145 shows by 418 European artists were presented at the 60 ETEP festivals (2003 – 2010) www.etep.nl
The EBU is the world’s biggest association of national broadcasters and will broadcast from Eurosonic Noorderslag in several European countries.
Many bands have showcased at Eurosonic Noorderslag and gone on to be successful and established festival acts including; Blood Red Shoes, Digitalism, Dry the River. Emeli Sande, FM Belfast, Franz Ferdinand, Goose, Infadels, James Vincent McMorrow, Kaizers Orchestra, Lianne La Havas, Lykke Li, Niki & the Dove, Selah Sue, The Ting Tings , The XX , White Lies, Yelle, zZz
The event will take place from January 9-12 in The Netherlands with a conference by day and a special selection of new European bands by night. Watch the video trailer for this year’s event below:
