Gabriella Cilmi has partnered with Absolute Marketing & Distribution for the independent release of her third album The Sting on October 28.
The Australian-Italian singer-songwriter, whose 2008 single Sweet About Me became an international hit, was previously signed to Island Records. Her new album will be released on her own UK-based imprint Sweetness Tunes and will be preceded by the title track on September 2. Live dates will follow in the autumn.
She said of the new partnership: “Absolute have helped put together a perfect team to release my next record. They have been great to work with and I'm looking forward to getting stuck into my campaign.

At the age of 16, Cilmi came to prominence with the hit single Sweet About Me that sold over 2 million copies, went Top 10 in 16 countries, spent 37 consecutive weeks in the UK singles chart, and garnered over 27 million views.
Her debut album Lessons To Be Learned went Top 10 in a 12 countries, sold one million copies, and she played Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage in 2009.
