Imagem Music has signed the co-writer of One Direction’s track Little Things, Fiona Bevan.
Suffolk-born Bevan has been part of the London songwriter and folk scene for a few years and has collaborated with the likes of Ed Sheeran (Atlantic) and fellow Imagem artists Ryan Keen and Nick Mulvey (Fiction Records).
Bevan created the One Direction track with Ed Sheeran before it was recorded – and the group requested they were the ones to do so. It debuted on the Official Singles Chart at No.1 last week and is taken from One Direction’s album Take Me Home which has gone to No.1 in 35 countries including the UK, USA, Canada and Australia.
The relationship with Syco has also found Bevan collaborating with Britain’s Got Talent graduates Loveable Rogues along with production duo Adam Midgley and Tom Baxter (Olly Murs, Loick Essien) and producer Oliver Price.
Bevan is also in the studio writing with Mark Hadfield and Mike Di Scala, whose most recent hit was Ne-Yo’s Let Me Love You.
Bevan said: “The last 12 months have been incredible, writing with a lot of different artists including Ed (Sheeran), Mikill Pane (Mercury), Fem Fel, Kal Lavelle, Gwyneth Herbert and producer Dan Dare, and developing my skills as a co-writer. Joining Kim (Frankiewicz) and Lucy (Francis) and the team at Imagem is going to present endless creative collaborations, as well as really guiding me on my first studio album.”
Kim Frankiewicz, managing director of Imagem Music UK, said: “A star is born with Fiona; she’s on the pathway to an absolutely amazing career, as both an artist and songwriter. We’re thrilled that Fiona is joining Imagem”.
2013 will see Fiona concentrating on her own debut album in addition to exploring further co-writing opportunities for other artists.
