Kygo partners with Shazam for debut album launch

Music recognition app Shazam has partnered with Norwegian artist Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll, aka Kygo, on the release of his debut album, Cloud Nine - out May 13 via Ultra Records/RCA Records.

As a Shazam Verified Artist, Kygo will spotlight his album collaborators by Shazaming tracks from each featured artist on his Shazam feed, offering followers and the Shazam community an inside look at how his music is made.

The artists include: Parson James, Tom Odell, Kodaline, Conrad Sewell, John Legend, James Vincent McMorrow, Foxes, Rhodes, Matt Corby, Maty Noyes, Will Heard, Labrinth, Julia Michaels, Angus & Julia Stone.

The album will feature hits such as Stole The Show feat. Parson James, Firestone feat. Conrad Sewell, and a number of highly anticipated unreleased tracks.

Gørvell-Dahll said: “I am so excited to be working with Shazam on my debut studio album, Cloud Nine. Shazam is becoming a great way for artists to connect with their very first fans.”

Kygo was previously crowned Spotify’s Breakout Artist of 2015, as songs like Firestone helped him become the fastest artist to reach 1 billion streams on the service. His latest single, Stole the Show, is certified gold or platinum in 16 countries.

Greg Glenday, chief revenue officer, Shazam, commented: “Kygo is an artist who understands that Shazam is becoming an industry standard in launching a new album."
