Vinyl sales surge 60% year-on-year

The BPI has reported the surge in demand for vinyl continues to grow. The best part of 640,000 albums were purchased by music buyers between January and March this year according to data supplied by the Official Charts Company. This represents an increase of more than 60% on the same period last year, with vinyl’s share of the album market nearly doubling to 3.9% (from 2.1% in Q1 2015) during this time.
