Patreon acquires competitor Subbable

Crowdfunding subscription platform Patreon has acquired its competitor, Subbable.

Patreon, which is used by artists including Amanda Palmer, was founded by Jack Conte (pictured) of Pomplamoose in 2013. Subbable was founded by YouTube content creators Hank and John Green (the latter also being the author of popular young adult novels including The Fault In Our Stars) in the same year.
