The extortionate prices of drinks at industry haunt The Carlton and dismal weather don't paint a pretty picture for annual music industry conference Midem.

Taking place last weekend in Cannes, the event has typically been a key date in any music industry worker's diary, a place to make (or break) deals, network and of course, party.

However, Midem 2014 saw a 4% year-on-year reduction in attendees, with 6,150 people pitching up.
