Reading and Leeds will this year feature a silent band event – where fans can listen to live music through headphones late into the night.

Speaking to Music Week, the festival’s boss Melvin Benn revealed the new feature – a development of the traditional silent disco.

Taking place from midnight onwards, it allows Benn to dodge late night sound restrictions.
