Record Store Day album sales up 60% YoY in 2013

Record Store Day 2013 album sales were up 60% compared to last year, while single sales rose 20%.

Shops involved in the event reported an average customer spend of around £45 with some spending hundreds of pounds on special limited edition product.

Eight of the Top 10 Vinyl Albums this week were Record Store Day exclusives, according to the Official Charts Company.
