UK ISPs ordered to block more pirate websites by High Court

BT, Sky, Virgin Media, O2, EE and TalkTalk have been ordered by the High Court to implement another round of pirate website blocks.

The UK ISPs have been ordered to put barriers up against YIFY-Torrents, PrimeWire, Vodly, WatchFreeMovies and Project Free TV.

While the latest blocks target sites providing access to copyright-infringing TV and film content, the High Court requirement is the latest in a growing line of orders, with music pirate sites having been aimed at in the past.

The latest came in February this year when UK ISPs were ordered to block three major pirate websites. TorrentFreak reports that this latest move brings the total number of copyright-infringing websites blocked in the UK to 33 – which counts the 10 most visited torrent sites, including The Pirate Bay.
