Vivendi chief reiterates commitment to Universal Music UK

Vivendi chief executive Arnaud de Puyfontaine (pictured) has firmly denied any rumours that the Universal parent company will sell its music business.

Reports of a possible divestment surfaced earlier this month, when Liberty Media Group founder John Malone reportedly made an offer for the company.

However, de Puyfontaine has said music is at the heart of Universal's strategy and that "the disposal of our music business will be over my dead body".
