Sony/ATV announces promotions in creative department

Sony/ATV has announced two promotions in its creative department, making Tyler Childs vice president and appointing Lou Al-Chamaa as senior director.

Childs joined Sony/ATV in 2012 as creative director, signing Grammy and BRIT awards nominee and Mercury Prize winner James Blake, who has written and produced for Beyoncé and Frank Ocean. His other signings include Walk The Moon, Tegan & Sara and Vic Mensa. Childs’ management company Quality CTRL represents Jack Antonoff, who co-wrote and produced three tracks on Taylor Swift’s 1989.

Al-Chamaa has been with the company since 2014 and has worked with Mike Posner, whose 2015 UK No.1 single I Took A Pill In Ibiza was certified double platinum in more than 10 countries. He has also worked with Brett McLaughlin, co-writer of Troye Sivan’s Youth, and signed Australian singer Ben Abraham and Cara Salimando, who is currently collaborating with acts including Wiz Khalifa and Dua Lipa. Before joining Sony/ATV Al-Chamaa worked for Sony Music, Atlantic Records and LAMM Music Management.

Both men are based in the company’s Los Angeles office.
