Early sales figures suggest the Def Jam/Mercury track Closer will overtake Coldplay's Viva La Vida this weekend with the Parlophone track currently around 2,000 sales behind Ne-Yo.

A close-run battle elsewhere in the top five has Columbia's Sara Bareilles, Def Jam/Mercury's Rihanna and Jive/RCA's Chris Brown presently separated by little more than 200 sales at this stage.
