Trenchard was sentenced to a 30-month custodial sentence after pleading guilty to theft and fraud by false representation. He had run up debts of nearly £200,000 on his staff credit card in an effort to clear the festival's shortfall but with costs and other bills the court in Aylesford heard the total amount of the fraud came to £355,000.
