Napster US is no more as Rhapsody redirect takes effect

A deal which saw Rhapsody buy Napster from parent company Best Buy closed on November 30 and users looking for the .com version of the service are now sent to a splash page informing them of the merger and offered a 14 day free trial on Rhapsody.

Rhapsody spokesperson Jaimee Steele said that the Napster brand will be moth-balled but may be used again in future.
