Simon Fuller eyeing CKX takeover

The board of US-based entertainment giant CKX met today backed a $1.3bn (?660m) buyout proposal by founder Robert Sillerman and 19 Entertainment's Simon Fuller.

The deal would elevate Fuller to one of the world's most powerful men in showbusiness, controlling the likes of the Elvis Presley estate, the American Idol TV series, image rights to Muhammad Ali and managing the careers of the likes of Woody Allen, Billy Crystal and, of course, the Beckhams.
