'It's just my life's work...': Lewis Capaldi confirms debut album release

Lewis Capaldi has confirmed details of his debut album.

Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent is out May 17 on Virgin EMI. Recorded over an 18-month period in London, New York and LA, it features co-writes with Jamie Hartman (Calvin Harris, Rag 'N' Bone Man), Malay (Frank Ocean, Lorde) and TMS.

The BRITs Critics’ Choice runner-up has announced a UK headline tour, including a show at O2 Academy Brixton on November 29.

Capaldi has cracked the Top 3 with his current single, Someone You Loved. It has sales to date of 186,313, according to the Official Charts Company.

Commenting on his debut album, Capaldi said: “I hope people don’t think it’s shit. I mean don’t get me wrong there will be one or two stinkers on there, but I’m only human and we all make mistakes, but as a whole I think it’s pretty fucking good.

“I’m excited for it to be released and have people finally be able to hear a full body of work from me for the first time. Should it bomb completely or receive an absolute critical lambasting, don’t worry, it’s just my life’s work up until this point.”
