'Thank you for your patience': Rita Ora confirms details of sophomore album

It’s been a long time coming but Rita Ora has finally confirmed details of her sophomore album. Phoenix will be released by Atlantic on November 23, preceded by new single Let You Love Me on Friday (September 21).

The follow-up to debut album Ora has taken six years, following a move from Roc Nation to Atlantic in the UK. The Ora LP has sales to date of 366,064, according to the Official Charts Company.

The singer’s first album with Atlantic follows a run of successful singles, with both Anywhere (996,688 sales - OCC) and Your Song (963,435 sales) heading towards the million mark. The latter was written by label mate Ed Sheeran and Steve Mac.

Her duet with Liam Payne, For You (Fifty Shades Freed), has so far sold 458,007 copies.

Phoenix will be part of the Q4 charge for Atlantic as the label aims to repeat its 2017 success with Sheeran.

Ora played a sold-out European tour this year, while her last five singles have amassed over 1.3 billion Spotify streams worldwide. She also had a global smash with Avicii on Lonely Together.

Ora commented: “One of the most liberating feelings for me is performing and creating music. This album is a true labour of love, and it was important for me to do it my way. I’m so appreciative of the love and support from those who worked with me on the record and allowed me create something I’m really proud of. They gave me the space and freedom to create something from my heart. Both challenging and euphoric at times. I am really proud of and grateful for the journey that the making of Phoenix has taken me on. To my fans, thank you for your patience and thank you always for listening.”

During her career, Ora has sold seven million singles and had 12 Top 10 hits.
