Is Los Angeles now the heartbeat of the US music industry?
There is a battle going on between Los Angeles and New York. The prize is highly symbolic: which city will have the privilege of hosting the music industry’s biggest awards ceremony, the Grammys, in 2018.
The last time New York hosted the Grammys was in 2003. For the past 14 years, they’ve been held in LA, most recently at the Staples Center, which has been tailored to the needs of the LA-based Recording Academy.
