A Henley high-performance SME programme
SMEs are the powerhouse of UK economic growth, yet bank lending in support of high-performance SMEs remains very challenging. The demand for alternative funding routes and strategies is increasing. We will support you with clear guidance on sources of funding and grants with an emphasis on routes to successful private equity investment, which can provide a key source of finance for growth.
Why is it that out of 98,000 companies that sought equity investment 95% were unsuccessful (Business, Innovation & Skills, 2013)? What is it that SMEs need to do in order to be more successful at raising investment?
Successful Funding Strategies for Growth focusses on the need to address these key challenges:
- Achieve successful funding strategies for growth
- Understand the investment process
- Develop strategies to attract investment interest
- Identifying business value - contracts, international property rights, international business, assets and business models
- Identify the assets and external data on which the value of the company will rely
- Understand core financial data and its presentation
- Identify internal procedures on which new stakeholders will rely
- Define your exit strategy and proposed return on investment
- Develop strong shareholder communications skills
- Boost awareness of the benefits of e-leadership strategies across your organisation
The programme will be delivered by Henley faculty in entrepreneurship, an experienced SME owner and a faculty member who has raised equity finance on several occasions. Understanding the investment vehicle and due diligence process is key.
