Role &Responsibilities:

You’ll be supporting the Music Supervisor & Rights and Clearances Manager UK in a wide range of rights and clearance duties such as:

  • Working closely with Music Supervisor and Rights and Clearance Manager primarily across music related work and some miscellaneous rights and clearance duties.
  • Dealing with administrative tasks such as checking & logging of music licensing documentation, managing flow of music and generally overseeing a strong organisational framework.
  • Following up with rights holders for countersigned licenses & unpaid invoices.
  • Dealing with licensing requests from different productions across all VICE verticals i.e. Noisey, Munchies and our new TV channel VICELAND.
  • Managing music databases for distribution of sourced music to productions.
  • Carrying out music searches of both library and commercial music for productions.
  • Negotiating agreement terms and completing license agreements.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong knowledge of music rights and clearances with a particular focus on digital, TV and branded content.
  • Demonstrable proven experience working in music sync/supervision and/or similar rights and clearances role.
  • Good ability to research and track down rights owners.
  • Experienced in negotiating fees and terms with rights owners.
  • Ideally would have good relationships with record labels and music publishers.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task under strict deadlines.
  • Good working knowledge of the content found on VICE.com and other VICE properties.
  • Strong research abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MAC environment.
  • Must be able to work in a multi-discipline collaborative environment.
  • Must be proficient in Excel.

Other:

  • To undertake such other tasks including general administrative duties as may be required from time to time
  • To be an ambassador for the business at all times.
