Six Questions With... international DJ Roger Sanchez

Welcome to the latest edition of Six Questions With..., a short and sharp interview with a live music figure. Email jhanley@nbmedia.com if you would like to take part or recommend someone for inclusion.

This week's Q&A is with international DJ Roger Sanchez, who is one of the performers at this year's Boardmasters festival, which will take place in Cornwall from August 9-13.

What was your first job in music?

My first job was DJ-ing. I would do weddings, mobile parties and promote my own events. I started at 13 years old!

How long have you been in your current role?

I have been a professional DJ and producer for 30 years.

What is your favourite thing about working in the live music industry?

What is the one thing you would like to change about the live business?

I wish the politics involved wouldn't be such an important factor in great talent being booked.

What has been the highlight of your career so far?

Having my own nights around the world and people telling me how important those nights are to them is one of my greatest pleasures!

What is the best gig you’ve ever been to?

I think the best is yet to come...
