Nina Wilson - aka Ninajirachi - is a 17-year-old musician and producer who hails from near Sydney, Australia, and who has been tipped for “a monstrous 2017” on the back of the release of ‘Pure Luck’, her beautiful and beguiling new single.
‘Pure Luck’, which features Wilson’s close friend Freya Staer on vocals, is an interesting track, mixing harsher low-end tones with bright, playful melodies in a manner that calls to mind Little Dragon.
A precocious talent, Ninajirachi was a finalist in Triple J’s Unearthed High competition in 2016, and saw ‘Pure Luck’ added to TripleJ rotation before she even had a chance to graduate from high school. Counting Porter Robinson, Mura Masa and Flume as influences, Ninajirachi’s sound is both accessible and sophisticated, and it is surely only a matter of time before her unique brand of electro-infused pop finds a significant worldwide audience.
