One Direction have handed over 6,000 tickets for their forthcoming world tour to online fan-to-fan ticket exchange platform Twickets.
Created to offer music fans the chance to exchange tickets for music, theatre and sporting events with fellow fans for face value or less, the ticketing app was founded by Richard Davies in 2011 in response to the "huge profiteering" on ticket resale via secondary ticketing websites. It charges a 10% fee for every exchange.
