Adele's 21 arrives on streaming services

While reasons for 21's arrival on streaming platforms - which it had avoided for so long - have not been made specific, speculation suggests that the extended windowing period may have come to an end as sales of the album finally dropped to a certain point.

If that is the case, Spotify's chief content officer Ken Parks may feel obliged, as he did in February, to put forward the notion that the megastar could have sold even more copies of 21 had she released it on Spotify initially.

Rumours circulating early this year suggested that Team Adele was initially open to having her multi platinum-selling album on Spotify, but was unable to agree terms with the streaming service.
