Amazon's store opened yesterday (Monday) with 3,800 apps available initially.
Apple has, however, argued that Amazon started using the 'App Store' term at the start of the year and took action on March 18, claiming trademark infringement, having opened its App Store in 2008.
Amazon, however, has been using the compressed term 'appstore' - a small difference that will inevitably be picked over at length in any legal action.
