Performing rights organisation ASCAP paid out over $851.2 million in royalties to its songwriter, composer and publisher members in the 2013 calendar year - a $24 million increase over 2012.
Last year was the sixth in a row that ASCAP distributed more than $800 million to its members, with domestic pay-outs totaling $527.9m – up 6.1%.
The organisation has paid out more than $5 billion in total over the past six years.
