Software firm BitTorrent Inc. has laid off almost a third of its US workforce, reports TorrentFreak.
The San Francisco, California-headquartered company is responsible for the BitTorrent peer-to-peer protocol and clients uTorrent and BitTorrent Mainline.
However, sources close to the firm told TorrentFreak that up to 45 of its US office had their contracts terminated last week, with more work being sent to its Minsk office in Belarus.
