Indie label Boxd Records has launched, offering management, promotion, film & animation, photography and design services.
Pitched as a ‘one-stop shop for artists’, the label has been set up by a group of musicians, filmmakers, photographers and graphic designers.
The team is made up of chairman Carl Windsor, managing and film director Hugh Adamson, concept artist Yen Ip, creative producer Paul Everatt, web designer Gareth Morgan, graphic designer Nana Jumah and Chad Chambers who heads up sales and artist management.
Discussing the new project, Chambers said: “Being a musician myself, it’s been apparent for the last couple of years that a strategic plan is needed to be in place if an artist is to make it anywhere nowadays.
“We’re not making any false promises to artists that we can make them superstars overnight, but instead we see ourselves as a stepping stone to landing that big contract.
“Like any industry, musicians need to become more business savvy to be able to make any money from their hard work and creative skills and this is where we come in. We look at an artist and explore how we can help them to develop and become an attractive offering to a larger label.”
The first band to sign to the label’s roster is Ameira – who are releasing their debut single We Never Close Our Eyes on August 15.
Sulu Babylon, Connor Bannister, The Royal Ocean, Fall by Dawn, CYB3RNATOR, Stephanie Clift, Luke J West and Smackhandle are signed under management.
