Cathy Dennis was last night hailed with the top honours at the annual Woman Of The Year Awards.
The singer turned songwriter, who has written hits for Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears and Will Young, received the Woman Of The Year title in a ceremony at London's InterContinental Hotel.
She was presented with the award by Annie Lenox. In an emotional acceptance speech, Dennis thanked 19 Management, who have looked after her since she was 17, and EMI Music Publishing.
Other women recognised last night were Mean Fiddler communications manager Tania Harrison, who won the Accolade Award, studio manager Ros Earls, who was given the outstanding achievement award, and T4's youth and music commissioning editor Cath Lovesey, who won the special achievement award.
