Former president of Epic Records Charlie Walk will reportedly take up the role as executive vice president for Republic Records on Monday.
While contract negotiations are still under way, he will head up the label's marketing, PR and promotion teams, according to Billboard sources.
Walk re-enters the record label business after founding and serving as chairman of Madison Avenue-based advertising agency JWalk, which will continue.
Prior to that he has held a number of positions at Sony Music. His previous roles included executive VP of marketing and promotion at Columbia Records, he headed up Epic Records from 2005 - 2009.
Republic's roster includes a number of big named artists including Angel Haze, Black Sabbath, Chase & Status, Jessie J and Florence + The Machine.
