Steve Moore has exited as CEO of the Country Music Association after leading a drive to push the genre's popularity internationally.

Moore, who left the post on June 30, oversaw the launch of the UK Songwriters Series, in which country songwriters discussed and played their songs in front of an audience, and the inaugural Country 2 Country Music Festival at the O2 headlined this spring by Tim McGraw and Carrie Underwood.
