Former president of Universal Motown Records Sylvia Rhone has been named president of Epic Records in the US.
After leaving Motown in 2011, Rhone founded her own label Vested In Culture as a joint venture with Epic. The label will continue as an imprint.
Rhone will report to Epic chairman/CEO L.A.Reid. She replaces COO Mark Shimmel, who left in January last year.
