Google launches WiFi dongle that beams mobile streaming content to TVs

Google has launched Chromecast, a wi-fi dongle that coordinates mobile device streaming to TV screens.

The device, priced at $35 and currently available through Google Play, Amazon.com and BestBuy.com, plugs into the HDMI port of a television and can stream content from nearby smartphones, tablets or laptops.

It is being advertised on Twitter as "The easiest way to enjoy online video and music on your TV. For $35."
