Government to close LVCR tax loophole

Low Value Consignment Relief allows goods under the value of £15 - recently reduced from £18 - to be sold into the UK from the Channel Islands without paying VAT.

LVCR was originally introduced to relieve the need for EU member states to collect small amounts of VAT but has led to most major music retailers setting up fulfilment centres in the Channel Islands to take advantage of the loophole.
